Since a young child Yamil had a fascination with natural medicine.  She recalls at age 5 playing with dirt and flowers, mixing them up with water and feeding it to her dolls as “medicine”.  A chance meeting with a grade school friend from fifth grade in her native hometown of Oyster Bay, Long Island,  reminded her that she had falling during recess and that Yamil had placed her hands on her knee and the pain stopped.  Beginning at age 11 she remembers having a strong belief in God’s presence although she did not grow up in a religious home.  She remembers thinking that there was power in plants and the earth and it was then that she became an avid reader of American Herbalists books and spiritual books.

Yamil Sarabia is a licensed Holistic Health Practitioner for the past 17 years.  She specializes in Oriental Medicine, CranioSacral Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage Therapy, Holistic Massage and Yoga.  She received her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from the NY College of TCM in 2009 and another degree from the NY College of Health Professions in 2000.  She is also NY State Certified EMT and since 2003 has continuously studied CranioSacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute.  She was the proud owner of Healthy Living Therapeutic on Long Island, but her life changed with her younger daughter marrying and living in NYC and her older daughter passing away in 2016.  She let go of the demands of a holistic spa business and downsized to being a single practitioner in order to devote herself to deeper inner self development and learning more, teach and write books.

Besides her passion for holistic medicine, she enjoys a serious interest in website design and software. She is the developer of this site and for fun takes on line courses on SEO and Web Development.  She believes music is the most beautiful thing on earth and listens to a plethora of genres. She plays guitar and drums for fun and only to herself.  Outdoors sports and Museum are of great delight as is a really good glass of Pinot Noir with dinner.  She now lives in northeast NYC with her well behaved spunky pommerian dog and two easy going cats.
